Frequently asked questions.
What in the world is Macho Grande?
My name is Brian Williamson, and I felt this wild idea needed a project name. Macho Grande was a stage name I used in a previous life, and I thought it would be a catchy nickname for this project. I already had a logo ready to go so I decided to run with it.
Where will the training rides be along the TX -> LA -> MS -> FL (and back) journey?
There will definitely be more information as we get closer to the weeks of 4/14 and 4/21. The goal will be to do a 60 mile training ride on the Tuesdays and Thursdays of those weeks. It will be highly dependent on the weather conditions, travel progress, the potential availability of local cycling clubs, etc. More to come!
What’s the best way to get involved and stay informed?
I will be posting updates, training ride videos, logistics, etc. on multiple social media platforms beginning in February. I have links on this site to Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube as well as contact information to send a note. If you REALLY want to get involved, there are links to sign up to join the Bike MS rides as well as links to national cycling clubs to help you get started and to train.
Why are you doing this?
The answer to this can be found in the About page of this site. But basically I saw the opportunity for a personal adventure that could also help raise awareness and funds for a great cause while at the same time helping people and organizations that truly make a difference.
More FAQs to come as the questions come in!
